No assistant yet? This is the whole setup
taxroam is not a website you upload files to — there is no such field. It runs inside an assistant on your own machine, which is why your statements never travel anywhere. If you do not have one yet, that is the only thing standing between you and a computed figure.
Three steps, once
Install an assistant
Claude Desktop is free and is the shortest path. Cursor and Claude Code work too, and ChatGPT works in developer mode. Any one of them is enough — you only need one.
Paste one command
It tells the assistant where we are. You run it once; after that the assistant remembers.
Ask in your own words
No syntax to learn. Point at the folder with your broker files and say what you want.

Checking your files and quoting the price are free, and no account is needed for either. You find out how many transactions you have and what is missing before you decide anything.
What if I cannot install anything?
Then taxroam is not for you today, and we would rather say so than waste your evening. The assistant is not a wrapper we could remove — it is the reason the files stay on your machine. Without it there is no product, only another upload form.
